Here are some helpful guidelines to follow when providing your logo or imprint to the SAS art department:

ELECTRONIC ARTWORK SPECIFICATIONS
|
|
For your convenience, we are Windows (PC) and Macintosh compatible. If your program is not listed below, please call so we can find a way to use your files.
WE HAVE AVAILABLE:
* Adobe Illustrator CS2 (v13) for PC and Mac
* CorelDraw X3 (v13 and below) for PC
* CorelDRAW 11 for Mac
*Adobe Photoshop 7.0 for PC and Mac
*Adobe Acrobat (Reader 7.0 and Writer 6.0)
There are many other programs available to open/read your files. However, since they are not specifically graphic programs, we cannot build separations from them. Use of these non-graphic programs may be subject to additional conversion charges. PLEASE BE SURE TO CONVERT ALL FONTS TO CURVES or include your fonts for us to utilize.
Please remember that a VECTOR format is preferred for most files and will produce a better print during production. Vector files allow for SAS to manipulate the art by use of nodes (or points) which can be moved within the graphic (edges can be straightened, lines smoothed, etc).
Vector File Extensions we like to see:
.ai
.cdr
.eps
.pdf
Raster images (no nodes and cannot be manipulated) are mostly for CMYK separations (4-color process / photo-like images) and need to be saved at 300 dpi (dots per inch).
Raster File Extensions we like to see:
.psd
.tiff
.pcx
.bmp
.jpeg
.gif
In most cases artwork “to size” is not necessary. Our SAS graphics department can “resize” your logo or imprint to fit most items.

NON-ELECTONIC ARTWORK SPECIFICATIONS
|
|
Here are some helpful terms for those who would like to submit artwork in "the classic style" of old:
CAMERA READY ARTWORK-
Artwork that is on white paper printed in black ink, by a laser printer or any other high resolution printer.
SEPARATIONS-
Colors in a design are separated onto different pages.
(Ex. If a design is 3 colors; red, black and blue,
each of those colors will be on its’ own sheet of paper)
AD SLICKS-
High gloss paper that has been offset printed with black ink. (Usually larger corporations have these, however it is old technology. Now usually replaced with
electronic art: disks or e-mail.)
OTHER INFORMATION-
In general, faxes and photocopies are not acceptable as clean/usable artwork.:
Light blue inks do not show up on copiers/faxes/cameras.
Reds,dark pinks and dark oranges show up as black on
these types of equipment.

Anything over 15 minutes is billed at a rate of $100.00 per hour with 1 hour being the minimum charge. |
